Truro

1v1, double-elimination. Items OFF. Custom moves will be disabled for this tournament. Equipment disabled.

Mii Fighters are selectable. They may be customized with costumes, but they will be restricted to the default special move loadout (1111). We also ask that no potentially offensive designs be used.

2 Stock, 7 minute timer. If time runs out, the winner is decided by stock count, and then by percentage (lowest damage winning). Sudden-death is ignored. Rounds are played to best 2 our of 3, except the Winner’s Finals, Loser’s Finals, and Grand Finals, which are best 3 out of 5.

Stalling is prohibited. Stalling is defined as avoiding any instance of combat with or without the use of bugs/exploits (ie. infinite Pac-trampoline). Playing defensively or retreating from a disadvantageous position is fine, but a team running or avoiding absolutely all combat for 30 seconds straight or longer may be considered stalling.

Stage selection takes place before players select their characters.
-For the first round, the stage will be chosen by teams taking turns voting off “starter” stages until one remains. Players then select their characters.
-For the second round and after, the winner can choose 3 stages from the stage list. The loser cannot choose either of these stages, but can select any other stage marked “starter” or “counterpick”. After choosing the stage, the last-round’s winner chooses their character, and then the last-round’s loser chooses their character, and they play. Note, if you are selecting a stage, you cannot choose one you have previously won on in the same set.
-Any any point, If both players agree on a single stage, any stage may be selected, even if marked “counterpick” or “banned”.

Here is the stage list. It is a bit more expansive than many other Super Smash Bros. tournaments’ selections:

-Starters:
Final Destination
Battlefield
Lylat Cruise
Smashville
Town and City
Dreamland 64
Duck Hunt

-Counterpick:
Mushroom Kingdom U
Mario Circuit (Wii U)
Delfino Plaza
Kongo Jungle 64
Skyloft
Halberd
Pokemon Stadium 2
Castle Siege
Skyworld
Pilotwings
Wuhu Island
Peach’s Castle 64

Stage Selection (Doubles)

  • Dave’s Modified Stupid Rule (player cannot pick a stage that has previously been played during the set)
  • Gentleman’s Rule (players can pick any stage, Starter, Counterpick, or Banned, if both parties agree to it)
  • The stage for battle will be decided before characters are selected. Stage selection for the first round will be chosen by teams taking turns voting off “starter” stages until one remains. The second round (and third, if applicable) will be chosen by the team who lost the previous round, from any stage marked “starter” or “counterpick”. After the stage has been decided, players will select their characters. For round 2 or 3, the winners must select their character first.
