Standard Rules

1v1, no items, 4-stock, 8:00 time limit
Double elimination
Pausing is banned
All sets are best-of-three (with the exception of Winners Finals/Losers Finals/Grand Finals, which are best-of-five)

Dave’s Stupid Rule (player cannot pick a stage they have previously won on during the set)
On the first game of every set, players rock-paper-scissors (best-of-one) to see who gets to ban first
Players then ban stages in the following order:
- Player 1 bans 1 stage
- Player 2 bans 2 stages
- Player 1 bans 1 stage
For the second or third games of each set, the winning player bans 2 stages, and the loser selects from any of the remaining legal stages
For games two and beyond, players select stage first, then the winner can announce a character change, then the loser can announce a character change
