In Prince Edward Island, power rankings are determined by a points-based system based on tournament results. For each PEI tournament, players receive the following number of points based on their placing:
- 1st = 10 pts
- 2nd = 9 pts
- 3rd = 8 pts
- 4th = 7 pts
- 5th = 6 pts
- 7th = 5 pts
- 9th = 4 pts
- 13th = 3 pts
- 17th = 2 pts
- 25th = 1 pt
The player’s average score is determined by their total number of points divided by the number of tournaments they attended. Each time a new tournament is added to the rankings, the oldest tournament is dropped from the rankings and any points accumulated from that tournament are no longer included in a player’s ranking score. The minimum number of tournaments required for a player to appear on the rankings is 3.
